Description

Basic First Aid provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently to common medical and injury‑related emergencies. The course focuses on simple, effective actions that anyone can perform to protect life, prevent the situation from getting worse, and promote recovery until professional help arrives. Through a combination of instruction, demonstrations, and hands‑on practice, participants learn how to assess an emergency, provide immediate care, and support a person in distress with calm, safe, and timely actions. This training builds the foundation for all higher levels of first aid and prepares individuals to act responsibly in real‑life situations at home, work, or in the community.

Learners develop the ability to recognize, assess, and manage a wide range of emergencies, including breathing problems, cardiac events, bleeding, shock, sudden medical conditions, and common injuries. The program includes CPR Level C and AED training, ensuring participants are prepared to act quickly and safely in time‑sensitive situations.

This course meets or exceeds federal and most provincial/territorial workplace first aid requirements and reflects the latest Canadian Consensus Guidelines on First Aid and CPR
